I liked that there were so many options for me to choose from. With seven different programs and a multitude of professors in each, I knew that I'd find something that interested me. The interview process was a great experience and it really let me get to know what kind of people are at Pitt and I knew this was the place I wanted to go. When I first started, I thought I would be in biochemistry and molecular genetics. But with the opportunity to choose from so many different programs, I found that Molecular Pharm was the right place for me. Pittsburgh is a great city and the IBGP program will give you many opportunities to find a lab that you can call home.

I am working in Dr. John Horn's lab and we are currently looking at trying to elucidate the reason for norepinephrine insensitivity in sympathetic neurons of the superior cervical ganglion in rats.
