Shanshan Cui Year started program: 2005 Program name: Cell Biology And Molecular Physiology 2005 - BS, Biological Sciences, Wuhan University
What attracted me most was the flexibility of this program. Not quite decided on my future direction during graduate-school application, I felt comfortable with IBGP, where there was exciting work going on in multiple biomedical branches. I was happy having an opportunity to explore different aspects of science before making a decision. After the first-year rotations, I joined Dr. Ora Weisz’s lab to study polarized membrane trafficking in mammalian epithelial cells. It feels great to have my own project and be responsible for it. There are always challenges and, at the same time, exciting discoveries as well. I enjoy science discussions and collaborations with others, both of which help improve my knowledge and skills as a graduate student. I started my fourth year in IBGP this fall and I am looking forward to a lot of fun. View All Featured Students
