Bioinformatics

Description of projects available to graduate students:
Structure-function relationship of proteins and developing novel statistical natural language models for predicting structure, folding/misfolding, and function.

Techniques graduate student will learn:
Using n-gram technology, in conjunction with equilibrium dynamics, the aim is to gain insights into the balance between evolutionary constraints and functional requirements in selecting particular folds, which will in turn will permit a better understand and design protein functions.
