Description of projects available to graduate students:
Systems Biology studies the dynamics of biological and biomedical processes from a whole system point of view. There is an impending need to characterize protein interactions on a structural and functional level.

Techniques graduate student will learn:
Mathematical modeling of cell cycle regulation and the apoptotic pathway (such as the the effect of nitric oxide on apoptosis and bistability in the apoptotic pathway). The aim is to continue this approach by characterizing DNA damage pathways and regulatory networks these models.
