pard3 function in cone pathway developmentDate Added: 5/4/2009 2:29:00 PM Last Updated: 5/12/2009 9:56:00 AM
Description of projects available to graduate students: This study will investigate if and how pard3 plays a role in the establishment of cone pathway. We have observed that pard3 is highly expressed in cones but not in rod photoreceptors. Cones are required for photopic vision. Rods are required for scotopic vision. It is unclear how the two pathways are established in vertebrates at the molecular level. Techniques graduate student will learn: techniques concern: molecular biology cell biology genetices
