I am currently working as a freelance Medical Writer. I am involved in writing scientific articles for Pharmaceutical companies and CROs.
What were some of the most positive and surprising things about living in Pittsburgh? What did you expect of the city how was it different from your expectations? The most positive thing about living in Pittsburgh were pittsburghers. And by pittsburghers I mean everyone that live in this city, regardless of where they were born. I anticipated a boring city and it turns out to be quite alive, you just need to look for it. While in Pittsburgh, I met filmmakers, square-dancing callers, flamenco dancers, a puppet showman... In what ways did your training at Pitt prepare you for your current position? Writing my progress reports for committee meetings, research papers and my thesis prepared me to be medical writer. The intersdisciplinarity of the program also prepared me to write about almost anything related to medicine. Finally, my mentor allowed me to take courses at Carnegie Mellon University about writing.
