I am a post-doc at UCSD Department of Psychiatry, in the School of Medicine. I am currently studying micro RNA expression alterations in brain cells during HIV infection. I work with the HIV Neurobehavioral Research Center and the Center for AIDS Research at UCSD.

In what ways did your training at Pitt prepare you for your current position? Pitt taught me effective communication of scientific ideas, data, processes to many types of audiences (broad and narrow) through both written and spoken word; taught by example and through (lots of) practice. Training at Pitt also also taught how to plane, execute, and interpret experiments meaningful to the question at hand. What did you find to be personally rewarding in the work you did while here at Pitt or in the work in which you are currently involved? Those rare, "aha!" moments.
