- Th1/Th2 differentiation and crossregulation and mathematical modeling of those interactions. This project involves the use of TCR transgenic mice and the tracking of immune responses in vivo.
- Role of dendritic cells in therapy of autoimmune diabetes using a murine diabetes model, the NOD mouse. We have identified dendritic cell subsets that protect NOD mice from diabetes development. Current studies are focused on the mechanism of action of the induced protection
- Fc receptor function on human NK cells. In this study the function of normal NK cells from individuals with defined allelic polymorphisms is analyzed. A more recently funded project is concerned with the assessment of FcR allelic polymorphisms as risk factors of disease severity for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
