Project Accepting Students
As an overview, we are interested mitochondrial biogenesis, DNA metabolism and mitochondrial stress responses in human disease and animal genetic models. We have a current emphasis on novel mouse model development, the study of circulating cell-free mtDNA, and high resolution mtDNA cell biology. We are looking for scientists interested in mtDNA structures and signaling , as well as someone interested in mtDNA metabolism and dysfunction in vivo mouse disease models for mechanistic physiological studies.
Program 1 Research Interests
Dr. Kaufman's long-standing research interest is to understand the contribution of mtDNA metabolism to disease progression
