The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) helps aspiring biomedical scientists gain significant experience and guidance for a career in research. Participants engage in an intensive 10-week program designed to provide hands-on experience in a biomedical lab. Students can immerse themselves in Pitt’s research community and receive guidance about applying for an advanced degree in the biomedical sciences.
Seven programs in the School of Medicine sponsor an annual Summer Undergraduate Research Program, including both programs in the IBGP: Molecular Pharmacology and Cellular and Molecular Pathology. We encourage highly motivated undergraduate students considering the pursuit of an advanced degree in biomedical research to apply for this summer fellowship.
