The Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program carefully selects highly motivated and qualified students. Approximately 200 students are in the program. The typical incoming class size is about 30 with a 10% underrepresented minority rate over the past 5 years. They have diverse backgrounds and come from all over the United States and from countries around the world. Current students have completed undergraduate degrees at leading Universities such as Harvard, MIT, John Hopkins, Brown, Duke, and Penn. From outside the U.S., our program includes students who attended international schools such as National Taiwan University, Universitat de Barcelona, University of Hydeabad, Catholic University of Chile, Universidad de la Republica, Peking University, Kishinchand Cellaram College, University of Guam, University of Cambridge, Anna University, Wuhan University, and Fudan University.
The average IBGP student holds a 3.6 undergraduate GPA, 157 (75%) GRE Verbal, 156 (74%) GRE Quantitative, and 4.5 (60%) GRE Writing score.
Over the past 10 years, the average student has had 4 publications while active, 2 of which are first author, totaling over a thousand publications!
We are very proud of the quality of our students and their achievements as both IBGP students and, later on, alumni.
