| Our lab is studying the mechanisms responsible for the development of HIV/SIV-associated comorbidities. We are performing translational studies to test new therapeutic and dietary interventions aimed at reducing chronic inflammation and hypercoagulation and improve the gut function and metabolic status of individuals infected with HIV/SIV. Diverse non-human primate models of progressive, non-progressive and elite controlled SIV infection developed by our laboratory are used for these studies. |
